Hey dolls, I've finally gotten around to trying OPI's Mermaid's Tears. This color is a very dusty, muted teal-like green from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection. Mermaid's Tears was one of the few colors from this collection that was a must have for me! No complaints with the formula on this one; I applied 2 easy coats and had full opacity. I don't own a lot of OPI polishes, so I have to get readjusted to the pro wide brush every time I use it. I had to take so many pictures of this shade because my camera kept bringing out the blue tones, especially outside in the sunlight. A picture I took using my blackberry was truest to this shade.

Crazy right?!? So much for not changing my nails. Has this ever happened to you when using a shatter/crackle?

This looks beautiful on you! I've heard many bad things about Turquoise Shatter. I've also heard to use it when the polish is a little wet. I don't have it, but I guess that could have been the problem.
Gosh, girl, you have some long nails! I don't personally like Mermaid's Tears, but it does look quite nice with your skin tone. Pastels just look washed out on me.
Thanks ladies!
@Minty...I've used Turquoise Shatter before on dry and on semi-wet nails and it worked both times...so weird.
@Thalie...Thanks, I'm glad I could pull this one off. My nails have been growing like crazy. They usually get around this length, one breaks, then I cut them all to start over. This is about 2 months of growth.
So jealous of your nail length. And Mermaid's Tears look fantastic on you!
aww don't be jealous!!! thanks girl!
ooh i like this shade on you. yeah i thought you use the 'crackles' when wet.
My turquoise shatter is perfect but I have issues with my silver one! I love Mermaid's Tears though, one of my new favorite colors!
Thanks Pretty. I've used it both on wet and dry nails...maybe I'll try it again to see if it will work better.
@Carly...my silver one works perfectly! The turquoise is such a pretty shade so I don't want to give up on it. :)
