Hey dolls, I just realized that my
giveaway is ending soon and I haven't shown you pictures of all of the colors. Today I'm wearing Facets of Fuchsia, a purple micro & hexagon glitter suspended in a black base. To avoid having to use a lot of layers, I first applied Aldo Hit the Pavement. This is a black polish filled with silver shimmer. I had no clue Also sold polish...I usually just go there for my shoe fix. I got Hit the Pavement during this
haul a few months ago. I only applied 1 coat since I knew I would be layering it. The formula was good...not too thick nor runny. The brush was a little stiff, but not problematic. It looks pretty opaque in real life, but I do see a little balding on my pinkie in the picture.
Hit the Pavement is a nice black shimmer. I think it'll be awesome when I'm in the mood for black polish. I then added 1 coat of Facets of Fuchsia. The formula was great for a glitter. It wasn't thick or goopy. The glitter distributes relatively evenly, but you do have to manipulate the hexagon glitter a little bit if you want it all over the nail. If you are doing multiple coats, I would recommend waiting a few minutes for each to dry to avoid lifting the glitter. Unfortunately it has been dreary here for the last 2 days, so I don't have sun pictures. These flash shot shows the shade of the glitter best.

I love how much depth the glitter has to it. I think this polish would be a great addition to any stash. Compared to Starry Pink, I'm in love with this Facets of Fuchsia! Speaking of Starry Pink, I decided to layer it over a few colors based on some recommendations. Since it is Pink Wednesday, I'll include those pictures as well. The colors I chose to go under Starry Pink are Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On, Essie French Affair, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Hot Magenta, and Zoya Mimi.
I like it best over the second one, Essie French Affair. It just has more depth. The last 2 don't do anything for me since Starry Pink's base is so milky. I hope you all are having a good hump day...I'm excited for the season premier of Modern Family tonight and a new episode of Top Model!
I just love the layering you did - really shows off the potential
ReplyDeletedisagree lol - i think it looks AMAZE over Mimi .... heds off to stash to try :)

ReplyDeleteLol...go right on over to Target!
ReplyDeleteooh i like layering the glitter over black. i shall try someting like that. pretty
ReplyDeleteThanks! It worked out well together.
ReplyDeletePretty! I almost want to buy Starry Pink just to layer it!
ReplyDeleteI really love this color combination. Reading your blog these past few months has made me want to up my nail game. I've been keeping them short but I see long and prettily painted nails in my future.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherri! Your compliment really means a lot to me and is greatly appreciated. I hope I can keep you inspired.
ReplyDeleteIt's way better layered!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I thought Starry Pink would get much pinker over a bright pink. Now I'm thinking you would need a dark maroon, almost black to get the effect I was thinking of....
ReplyDeleteI think you're right. I forgot to try it over black. You're the main reason I did the layering. :)
ReplyDeleteI have the Deb Lippmann one this is supposed to be a dup of. But from what I see on blog swatches - this is got lots more glitter in it and has the hex shapes too that DL does not. However the DL has a pretty good black back so no under laying needed - just 2 coats to get enough of the glitter onto the nail bed.
