Autism Awareness ~ Essence Let's Get Lost & Space Queen
Hey dolls, you may have heard that April is Autism Awareness Month and today is World Autism Awareness Day. I've mentioned before that my day job is being a speech-language pathologist. I have worked with many students who are on the autism spectrum by helping to increase their communication skills, improving social interactions, and their overall language abilities. Working with these students has been fulfilling in so many ways, so I had to wear blue nails today to support autism awareness.
Today I'm wearing two gorgeous polishes I received in a giveaway from Markeeta over at Pink Polish Addict. Essence Let's Get Lost is a gorgeous bright blue with a hybrid creme-jelly formula. I love that even though Essence bottles are smaller than usual, the brush is still a relatively good size and easy to use. Let's Get Lost was opaque in 1 coat, but I used 2 for depth.
Let's Get Lost is such a gorgeous blue! I decided to add a little bling with one coat of Essence Space Queen, a multi-colored glitter top coat.
Space Queen added just the right amount of sparkle! I love how it flashes green, blue, silver, and gold. Now I'm looking forward to trying all of the other Essence polishes Marketta sent! Thanks again doll!!!
I will be wearing a blue manicure each week throughout the month of April in support of Autism Awareness. If you'd like more information on autism, please visit Autism Speaks.

Pretty. Looks similar to the Orly Blue Collar I'm wearing...Autism Awareness!!!
Lovely blue. And I adore Space Queen.
I surely wish our drug stores sold Essence. They seem to have such pretty shades. Is the wear good on most of them or are they the typical 2 day and chipping, need to be taken off type? Thanks for mentioning and helping represent Autism Awareness Month.
I wish I could find it locally as well. I don't have an Ulta in town though. The wear seems to be pretty good though. I'm on day 2 with no chips or tip wear.
Ooh, I really like this blue, I'll have to check my Ulta to see if I can find it. I am participating in Autism Awareness month as well. I am an aide who works with autistic students regularly. It's so interesting to learn that you're a speech pathologist, though I've been stopping by your blog for a long time, it really makes me feel I "know" you better because we are both in the educational field. Do you work with a particular age group? I'm a substitute so I've worked with all ages, but feel I "know" the most about autism in preschool age children.
I love getting to know people in the nail polish world too! Do you blog as well? I've worked as a school-based therapist for the last 3 years with Pre-K to 1st graders and severely disabled students in separate classrooms.
I have a blog that you can find at http://impoverishedbypolish.blogspot.com/. Also, I was interested to learn that Heather at Peace, Love and Polish is a Special Ed teacher. Her blog is http://peacelovepolish.blogspot.com/
