Pink Wednesday ~ ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly + Pretty & Polished Custom Punk'd Up Betty

Happy Pink Wednesday dolls! I hope that all of you are having a great week. Today I'm wearing a combo that I'm not absolutely thrilled with. I started with ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly, which is a gorgeous charcoal gray matte. It is filled with silver shimmer. There is also a little blue shimmer that is apparent at certain angles. The formula of Fuggen Ugly was typical ManGlaze greatness. I used two coats in the pictures below. These are without top coat.
To include some pink, I added my custom order of Pretty & Polished Punk'd Up Betty. My version is exactly the same as the original, except it doesn't include the large white hexes. The formula was thick and goopy; it was almost as if there was too much base for the density of the glitter. This is one coat of the custom Punk'd Up Betty over Fuggen Ugly.
Eh...I'm not sure how I feel about this. Actually I am sure; I don't like it. I can't put my finger on what I don't like though. I'm not sure if it's the combination of the two polishes or if I just don't like the glitter. I like the size of the glitter and I've been looking for just pink and black, so I'm not sure why I'm not vibing with it. I may need to try the custom polish layered over white. On the other hand, I adore Fuggen Ugly. Look at how gorgeous the shimmer is with top coat added! Everything about Fuggen Ugly makes me happy.

I'm starting to get used to the light box pictures. Let me know your thoughts on them. Happy hump day dolls!

Maybe you can try thinning it out. A lot of times indies use uncut suspension base which is super thick. I've had to thin some of mine out.

I love the manglaze. I don't own any . . . yet. It reminds me of Loredana.

I think the punked up betty would look good over white. I also wonder what it would look like over a light blue.

AND, love you light box swatches.

Jeez this is a long comment lol.

I love pinks and charcoals together always...it's a nice way to soften a wintery look & so Channel looking always to me with those classic color combos. I think this one with the dots of pink on the gray however give it a little retro 50's soda shope and poodle skirts look maybe? That might be why (along with your goop formula) is what you are not feeling 'right' about on this one? But I think as indicated above that grays with pink is just classic usually.

I really love this. Fuggen Ugly is an amazing polish and now I really want a pink and black glitter. I'll have to make myself one.

I typically love pink and gray together as well. You may be right about the retro feel of this one.

I love your long post! You need a ManGlazr. We may need to arrange a swap doll. I'm going to thin it and then try it over white and light blue on a nail wheel. Thanks for your thoughts on the light box pictures...I have to try to get as good as you. :)
