Hey dolls! I was in the mood for something dark when I did my nails last night. I recently got Maybelline Twilight Rays from Rach of
Stuff I Swatched's blog sale. Twilight Rays is a blackened base that is filled with goldish-green flecks. The formula was not problematic and I used two coats for the pictures below.
I'm not really sure how I feel about Twilight Rays. It's okay, but it seems as if the flecks fall a little flat in the base. The flecks look much more apparent in the bottle than they do on the nail where it only looks like micro glitter.
What are your thoughts on Twilight Rays?
I think it looks pretty but I know what you mean about the flecks not being as prominent.
ReplyDeleteYes! Prominent is the word I was looking for. I was having word finding issues trying to type the post quickly. :)
ReplyDeleteI almost picked this up last night while I was grocery shopping but thought, "I doubt the shimmer's that obvious on the nail." I'm glad you were able to confirm that for me. It's still pretty, just not as eye catching.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look as nice as it does in the bottle.
ReplyDeleteI think this looks absolutely stunning on you!!! So gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLate to the party, but I'm sorry you didn't like it! OTOH, I'm glad someone else understands how I felt about it, so there's that.
ReplyDeleteI still think it's pretty even though the glitter in the bottle is more prominent. You could layer a coat of gold micro glitter and a layer of green mirco glitter on top. Maybe it will have a better effect.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melody! I plan to try it again with gold flakies or microglitter like the one from Essie Luxe Effects.
ReplyDeleteYes!!! I know exactly what you meant about it now.
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate when that happens?!?
ReplyDeleteGlad I could save you a few bucks. :)
