Hey dolls, today for Pink Wednesday I have my most recent acquisition from Zoya thanks to their Halloween promo. I was not moved to buy any of the Gems and Jewels line when it was first released, but at the promo price I thought it would be a good time to try my first bar glitter. Kissy is a hot pink bar glitter that has some flashes of red, purple, and silver. The formula was rather thick, but not so much as to where it was problematic. Kissy dries to a very rough texture and 2 coats of
Nubar Diamont were needed to smooth this out to where it was wearable for me. Here is 2 coats over 1 coat of
Zoya Lolly.

My major issue with Kissy is the roughness that's left at the tips. I almost felt like there was something growing from my nails...lol. I even gently filed the tips and you can still see a some roughness on my pinkie. I really need to get some Gelous topcoat for these gritty glitters like Steph from
Imperfectly Painted mentioned in the comments on the WnW glitters post. Hubby called these rock star nails...Kissy is definitely a party in a bottle. If I were to wear this again, it would more than likely be as an accent. Bar glitter, in my opinion, can look a little childish. This one looks a little more grown up since it's not in a Barbie pink base. This may be the first Zoya to go on my swap list...

Yeah, I wasn't feeling the collection either, although I am drawn to Holly. I agree, it probably would look better as an accent nail more than anything. It's looks good on you though. It works cause you have a nice length with your nails. I don't think it'll look as nice on shorter nails. Although I could be wrong.
I got Kissy from the 2-free Halloween promo as a matter of fact and it just got here. Wonder if I'll like it now. Thanks for the review! :)

I'm not really a fan of bar glitters. I think they look pretty in bottles, but they do not translate very nicely on the nail. They're finicky too, like the issue you had with them! I got Sofia and Reece from the last Zoya promo :).
I'm not a fan of bar glitters... I love this color though, but the bars sticking outside of the nails... But I think your hubby is right, you got rock star nails with this one :D
oooweee! Mine (entire collection of 6) will be waiting for me when I get back home post surgery & putting in my required 'stay in the area' per the surgeon who keeps super close watch. I am curious if the finish on these once the bar glitter is on is rough to the touch.

I haven't heard much at all about the Gelous base coat. I'm sure you'll like the collection if you're into bar glitter.
I just couldn't get with this one...
It looks gorgeous in the bottle...sort of like funfetti. Both of the ones you got are really pretty! My other promo buy was Crystal.
