Cult Nail Nevermore + Charlatan

Hey dolls! Today I'm wearing a great Cult Nails combo in celebration of their sale over the next week. Nevermore is absolutely the best black polish I have ever tried. The formula is just the right consistency and it is completely opaque in one coat. I then applied one coat of Charlatan, which is from the most recent Deceptive top coat collection. Charlatan is a sheer top coat with a magenta to violet color shift. The pictures below were taken outside in the shade.
Love Charlatan! The color shift is visible in all lights, which is awesome. I'm glad I picked this one up because I see it looking great over so many different shades. At the top of this post I mentioned a Cult Nails sale. You can get 20% off using the code CULTOBER. Happy weekend dolls!

Reader's Choice Mondays ~ Cult Nails Power Thief

Cult Nails Power Thief

Hey dolls! Hope your week is off to a great start. My birthday was on Sunday and I had a great weekend celebrating with hubby in Destin, FL. I didn't do anything special to my nails, even though I took polish with me. I ended up keeping NOPI Just Busta Mauve on the entire time, which was fine with me.

This week's winner of the Reader's Choice poll was Cult Nails Power Thief with 43% of the votes. Power Thief is a gorgeous brown filled with silver flecks. The formula was typical of Cult Nails awesomeness and I used two coats in the pictures below.
I've been in the mood for brown polish lately, so Power Thief was right on time. I love the silver glass flecks in this polish. Have you noticed yourself reaching for darker colors yet? I usually wear the shades I want at any time of year, but lately I'm reaching for dark shades.

For next week, I have three of my untried ManGlazes for you. Please take a second to vote in the poll below!

Reader's Choice ~ NY Summer Hot Green & Cult Nails Happy Ending

Happy Monday Tuesday dolls! I apologize for the reader's choice mani being a day late, but I spent the weekend back home in SC for my ten year high school reunion. I had lots of fun hanging out with old friends and didn't get back home until after midnight on Sunday. Needless to say, I struggled at work yesterday and did not feel like doing my nails until about 10pm. The good news is that KBShimmer Don't Teal Anyone held up perfectly except for minor tipwear and visible growth at the cuticle.

Onto what I'm wearing now, NY Summer Hot Green was the winner of last week's poll with 55% of the votes. Hot Green is a bright, grass green jelly with a smooth formula. It dries a bit darker on the nail than the bottle, but I like the look. I haven't created a jelly sandwich in awhile, so I had all sorts of glitter combinations in my mind for this one. I decided on adding a coat of Cult Nails Happy Ending, a multi-colored shard glitter. The formula on Happy Ending was a little weird; it seemed to have a lot of base and I had to dab on the glitter. Because of the nature of shards, you have to make sure they are all flat on the nail. For the jelly sandwich, I layered one thick coat of Hot Green, a thick coat of Happy Ending, followed by another coat of Hot Green. I did a lot of typing at work today, so please excuse the tipwear in the photos below.
I love Hot Green, but I'm not crazy over the jelly sandwich. Happy Ending is cool, but it's not really my type of glitter. This combo definitely looks like something we would see on the indie market.

For this week's poll, I have three turquoises/teals for you. Please take a second to vote and the poll will be open until Saturday, September 29.

Pink Wednesday ~ Cult Nails Untamed

Mango, The Cambridge Satchel Company, BCBG MAX AZRIA

ShopStyle
Happy Pink Wednesday dolls! Today I'm wearing a super girly pink. Cult Nails Untamed is a bubblegum pink filled with subtle multi-colored shimmer. The formula is a creme/jelly hybrid and I used three coats. I almost stopped at two coats, but I wanted to see if the shimmer would be more visible at three.
shade
Untamed is a fun polish that most pink lovers will like. I wish the shimmer was a little more visible indoors, but it's still really pretty.

Hope you all are having a great week!

Reader's Choice Mondays ~ Cult Nails I Got Distracted

White House, J.Crew, Charlotte Russe

Hey dolls! Thanks to everyone who voted in last week's poll. Cult Nails I Got Distracted was chosen with 42% percent of the votes, so that's what I'm wearing today. I Got Distracted is one of the most talked about shades from the Cult Nails Untamed collection, which was created by Maria's daughter Coco. This polish is a black base filled with different sizes of green glitter and scattered micro holographic glitter. The formula was much thicker than the usual from Cult Nails, but it wasn't problematic. Opacity was achieved with two coats. While indoors, I Got Distracted just looks like a black polish filled with green glitter; its beauty comes out in the sunlight.
I Got Distracted definitely lives up to its name! I had this on during church yesterday and I kept looking at my nails. I'm excited to wear the other polishes from this collection.

Now on to the choices for next week's Reader's Choice. A few days ago, I picked up three polishes from the Nails Inc Sprinkles collection from Sephora. I couldn't resist these after seeing them pop up more and more on blogs. Please vote for which one you'd like to see next Monday and the poll will close on Friday, July 27.

Pretty & Polished PHAT Camp

Hey dolls! Can you all tell by now that Pretty & Polished is my favorite indie brand? Today I decided to add one of her new releases to my Cult Nails Princess mani. PHAT Camp is a glitter top coat that is comprised of royal purple shards, purple and teal hex glitter, and pink microglitter. The glitter is very dense, so I only applied one coat over Princess. I must note that you have to be careful when applying to make sure the shards are laying flat. A couple weren't completely flat on two fingers and I could still feel them after applying top coat.
I love the way PHAT Camp looks over blue! I tried this top coat over purple and dark blue on a nail wheel, but I preferred this combo the most because you can see all of the different glitters.

Happy weekend dolls!

Cult Nails Princess

Hey dolls, today I'm wearing Cult Nails Princess from the Fairy Tale collection. I ordered the newest collection, Untamed, by Maria's daughter Coco earlier this week, so I'm trying to wear these before those arrive in the mail. Princess is a dusty sky blue filled with copper shimmer. The formula was of typical Cult Nails fashion and I didn't have any issues with it. I'm wearing two coats in the photos below.
I had such a hard time capturing the shimmer in my photos. While Princess definitely sparkles in the sun, the shimmer is not as visible indoors. I like the color though and it seems like others do as well because I've been getting compliments on it for the last two days.

Did you order Coco's Untamed collection? I'm so excited for it!

4th of July ~ Cult Nails Evil Queen

Arden B, Nordstrom, AK Anne Klein, Lauren Jones

ShopStyle

Happy Fourth of July to all of my American readers! I'm so thankful to the men and women who have served and protected our country, especially to those in my family!

Today I'm wearing two colors from Cult Nails. Evil Queen is a true red creme that had the typical Cult Nails flawless formula. Tied Up is a cornflower blue jelly that I used for an accent nail. Two coats were used for both polishes.

I've seen polka dot framed nails on several blogs, so I wanted to give them a try. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On was used for the polka dots.
This look is a little busy for my tastes, but I sort of like it. I actually prefer the way my left hand looks in the last picture where only an accent frame was done. While Evil Queen is gorgeous, red just isn't my color. I'm excited to use Tied Up in a full mani now...maybe even a jelly sandwich.

What are your thoughts on this look?
