X Out Nail Art Project

Hi dolls! Last week I was contacted by a representative of X Out, an acne company marketed to teens by the makers of Pro-Activ, about an awesome nail art project they are sponsoring. For each post shared by nail bloggers, X Out is donating $200 to Pacer's National Bullying Prevention Center, an organization that helps to prevent bullying. X Out stands for confidence and putting your best (breakout-free) face forward. As an educator, I feel the donations are going towards a very worthy cause, so here's the mani I created.

Once I saw the X Out logo and packaging, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I used Orly Royal Navy as the base for my design. I then recreated this X accent nail using white striping tape. Finally, I sponged Orly Bubbly Bombshell onto the tips of my nails to tie in all of the colors from the packaging.

I absolutely love the way this combination turned out! Bubbly Bombshell has been on my wish list for some time, so now I'm excited to wear it all on its own. Here are the pictures that inspired this manicure:
Feel free to browse the X Out website to learn more information about their products!

ManGlaze Royal Matterimoaning & ILF

Hey dolls, today I'm wearing blue again in support of autism awareness month. ManGlaze Royal Matterimoaning is a royal blue matte that is filled with silver shimmer. This is the second ManGlaze that I have tried and the formula on these polishes is crazy pigmented. I'm only wearing one coat in the photos below! The dry time is also extremely fast, which is what you would expect from a matte polish.
I debated between making Royal Matterimoaning glossy or doing a tape mani...the tape won. I used striping tape to make an abstract design with ManGlaze ILF, which is a gorgeous turquoise matte. I am loving how easy the striping tape is to use!
I love the way this turned out! I may add top coat to it tomorrow to see how this combo looks glossy. Using ILF as the accent has me excited to wear that one all on its own!

Have you tried striping tape yet?

Pink Wednesday ~ Essie Your Hut or Mine & Zoya Color Blocking

Hey dolls! I finally found some inspiration and motivation after wearing Pros & Bronze. Today I'm wearing Essie Your Hut or Mine, which is a dusty pink coral that is filled with pink and gold shimmer. The formula was great and applied flawlessly. I used two coats for opacity.
This is my kind of color! Your Hut or Mine is perfect for warmer weather. I have been wanting to recreate a color blocking look I saw on Luv My Lacquer a few weeks ago and Your Hut or Mine was the perfect shade to do it with. I taped my nails diagonally first with Zoya Midori and then again with Zoya Zara.
I wanted to stick with shades that had gold shimmer and these look perfect together! I need a purse like this accent nail ASAP! Color blocking is so big in fashion and I love it just as much on nails.

Will you give this trend a try?

Your Hut or Mine was purchased using a gift card given by Apothica as a sponsor and additional Essie, Deborah Lippmann, and other great polishes can be found here.

Valentine's Look ~ Zoya Posh

Happy Valentine's day dolls! I hope that all of you do something special with the one you love or just for yourself. Today I'm wearing Zoya Posh, a matte red with a slight shimmer. The formula was great for a matte; I only applied one coat. It wasn't the least bit streaky and self-leveled very well.
You all should know by now that I am not a fan of red, but I really like this one. It's kind of a sexy color. Next, I decided to try out the infamous matte with glossy tips as seen on Chloe's Nails.
This was my first scotch tape tips mani and I definitely could use some more practice to ensure that it's properly aligned. I also need to make sure the amount of glossy tip is the same on each nail. Not so bad though. For a final touch, I decided to use Juicy Couture Gold Glitter as an accent because it has that adorable heart glitter.
I love the way this turned out! I hope you all enjoy the day!
