Zoya Ornate Collection

Hey dolls! I have an amazing collection for you tonight! Several months ago, the Zoya fairies posted on their facebook page that holos would be coming to us soon. Well, they are finally here in the winter collection! The Ornate collection consists of three scattered holos (which you all know I prefer over linear holos), a shimmer, a foil, and a bar glitter. The formula on the entire collection was great and all applied well. The Ornate collection is full of win, so let's get to the photos.

Blaze is a cool-toned medium mulberry red with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter. I know I love a color when I'm constantly telling my hubby how pretty it is as I apply it. Two coats were used.

Storm is a holiday black with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter. This color is absolutely stunning! You all know I've been into dark colors lately, so Blaze is right up my alley. Two coats were used.
Aurora is a medium sugarplum purple flecked with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter. Holo lovers, this is the one you NEED! Once again, I was saying out loud how gorgeous this polish was. By this point, hubby was probably tired of hearing me say it! The sparkle is crazy in this polish. Aurora is not quite as pigmented as the rest of the collection, so I used three coats.
Electra is a micro fine diamond holographic glitter mixed with large silver holographic bar tinsel in a clear base. Oh Electra. I would have been perfectly fine with this collection if Electra was not included. I'm sure those who like bar glitter will be pleased though. Electra surely provides the bling factor. I am not a fan of bar glitter; especially bar glitter that is this dense. Only one coat was used over Aurora.
Logan is a yellow-toned forest green with dense, foil-like yellow-gold and blue-green duochrome shimmer. This is one pretty green! I love how heavy the gold shimmer is. I didn't realize until I went outside that there was a little balding in some areas, so three coats (as opposed to the two I did) are needed for opacity.
Ziv is a yellow-toned metallic gold foil with silver highlights and warm gold flake glitter accents. I adore Ziv! This gold foil is so complimentary to my skin tone. I love the depth that the flakes add, which makes this a really unique shade. Two coats were used.
Excluding Electra, I absolutely love the Ornate collection! The best thing about the three holos is that the sparkle is visible in all lighting. Zoya has really impressed me this time around! If you'd like to purchase any of these Zoya polishes, you can find them here for $8 each.

Which shades are you loving from the Ornate collection?

Cult Nail Nevermore + Charlatan

Hey dolls! Today I'm wearing a great Cult Nails combo in celebration of their sale over the next week. Nevermore is absolutely the best black polish I have ever tried. The formula is just the right consistency and it is completely opaque in one coat. I then applied one coat of Charlatan, which is from the most recent Deceptive top coat collection. Charlatan is a sheer top coat with a magenta to violet color shift. The pictures below were taken outside in the shade.
Love Charlatan! The color shift is visible in all lights, which is awesome. I'm glad I picked this one up because I see it looking great over so many different shades. At the top of this post I mentioned a Cult Nails sale. You can get 20% off using the code CULTOBER. Happy weekend dolls!

Maybelline Twilight Rays

Hey dolls! I was in the mood for something dark when I did my nails last night. I recently got Maybelline Twilight Rays from Rach of Stuff I Swatched's blog sale. Twilight Rays is a blackened base that is filled with goldish-green flecks. The formula was not problematic and I used two coats for the pictures below.
I'm not really sure how I feel about Twilight Rays. It's okay, but it seems as if the flecks fall a little flat in the base. The flecks look much more apparent in the bottle than they do on the nail where it only looks like micro glitter.

What are your thoughts on Twilight Rays?

Pink Wednesday ~ ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly + Pretty & Polished Custom Punk'd Up Betty

Happy Pink Wednesday dolls! I hope that all of you are having a great week. Today I'm wearing a combo that I'm not absolutely thrilled with. I started with ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly, which is a gorgeous charcoal gray matte. It is filled with silver shimmer. There is also a little blue shimmer that is apparent at certain angles. The formula of Fuggen Ugly was typical ManGlaze greatness. I used two coats in the pictures below. These are without top coat.
To include some pink, I added my custom order of Pretty & Polished Punk'd Up Betty. My version is exactly the same as the original, except it doesn't include the large white hexes. The formula was thick and goopy; it was almost as if there was too much base for the density of the glitter. This is one coat of the custom Punk'd Up Betty over Fuggen Ugly.
Eh...I'm not sure how I feel about this. Actually I am sure; I don't like it. I can't put my finger on what I don't like though. I'm not sure if it's the combination of the two polishes or if I just don't like the glitter. I like the size of the glitter and I've been looking for just pink and black, so I'm not sure why I'm not vibing with it. I may need to try the custom polish layered over white. On the other hand, I adore Fuggen Ugly. Look at how gorgeous the shimmer is with top coat added! Everything about Fuggen Ugly makes me happy.

I'm starting to get used to the light box pictures. Let me know your thoughts on them. Happy hump day dolls!

Reader's Choice Mondays ~ Cult Nails I Got Distracted

White House, J.Crew, Charlotte Russe

ShopStyle

Hey dolls! Thanks to everyone who voted in last week's poll. Cult Nails I Got Distracted was chosen with 42% percent of the votes, so that's what I'm wearing today. I Got Distracted is one of the most talked about shades from the Cult Nails Untamed collection, which was created by Maria's daughter Coco. This polish is a black base filled with different sizes of green glitter and scattered micro holographic glitter. The formula was much thicker than the usual from Cult Nails, but it wasn't problematic. Opacity was achieved with two coats. While indoors, I Got Distracted just looks like a black polish filled with green glitter; its beauty comes out in the sunlight.
I Got Distracted definitely lives up to its name! I had this on during church yesterday and I kept looking at my nails. I'm excited to wear the other polishes from this collection.

Now on to the choices for next week's Reader's Choice. A few days ago, I picked up three polishes from the Nails Inc Sprinkles collection from Sephora. I couldn't resist these after seeing them pop up more and more on blogs. Please vote for which one you'd like to see next Monday and the poll will close on Friday, July 27.

Pink Wednesday ~ Zoya Lola + Pretty & Polished Valentino

Hey dolls! Thanks to all of you who have voted so far for the first Reader's Choice Mondays. I'm anxious to see what the final results will be. Today I'm wearing a girly, but edgy mani for Pink Wednesday. Zoya Lola has been on my wish list for some time. Lola is a bright pink that is filled with blue-violet shimmer. The formula was great and it was opaque in two coats.
light box
I adore this polish, not only because its gorgeous, but because I know two lovely ladies named Lola who are both my sorority sisters. You may know one of them - Lola from Burb Beauty.

To make this combo a little more edgy, I decided to add Pretty & Polished Valentino, which is a multi-shaped black and white glitter. The glitter is pretty dense, so I only needed one coat. The largest hexes were somewhat difficult to come out, but I didn't mind because I would be fine without them.
I love pink, white, and black together! My search for a black/white glitter has officially ended. I love that Valentino does not include any bar glitter, like most other black/white combos.

What's your favorite black/white glitter?

China Glaze Riveting & Cover Band Sticks 'n Stones

Amrita Singh, Tommy Hilfiger, Belle Noel by Kim Kardashian

ShopStyle

Hey dolls! Have you guys missed seeing my nails? I've definitely been missing you all. I've submitted my completed dissertation to my committee and now the wait is on for my defense next Tuesday. Everyone around me has been noticing that I haven't been changing my nails as often. I have a friend that I saw on Friday and I was wearing Picture Polish Denim (blog post to come soon). I saw her again last night and she could not believe I was still wearing the same polish. She proceeded to make me change my nails at 11p last night because "I was disappointing her."

She chose China Glaze Riveting for me to wear. I've been wanting this polish since it was released with the Hunger Game series, but I could never find it locally. I was able to get Riveting in Enamel Girl's blog sale (she's super cool). Riveting is a warm orange that is packed with gold shimmer. I used two coats and the formula was great.
shade
This orange polish is so fiery! I stared at my nails all night and then stared again the next day in the sunlight.  I'm so glad to finally have Riveting in my possession. I wonder how close this is to Zoya Myrta???

In light of all the Lynderella craziness, I thought it was only fitting to add a layer of Cover Band Sticks 'n Stones to this mani the next day. A polish friend decanted some in a mini bottle for me in a swap. I added one coat to Riveting.
I like this pairing, but I'm not overly crazy about the bar glitter. I much prefer the look on my pinky where no bar glitter happened to come out. I was able to get Pretty and Polished Valentino (a black and white glitter without bars) in a swap last month, so now I'm looking forward to wearing that one.

There are a couple more amazing guests posts scheduled to round out the week. I may try to post again this weekend in between practicing my presentation. If not, I'll be back next Wednesday to share my defense nails. Take care dolls!
