Swatch Alert...Zoya Tanzy

Happy Memorial Day dolls!!! Zoya Tanzy is the perfect color to kick off your summer season! It is a bright, tangerine-like orange shade that has tons of gold shimmer in it. No one does shimmers like Zoya, in my opinion!!! This color glided on easily and smoothly. I did not have any issues with the formula. In the pics below, you may see a little VNL (visible nail line) because I only applied 2 coats...I was in a rush to meet with a friend. I'm sure with 3 coats, full opacity would be achieved, but it didn't look bad to me at all. Here are the pics...

I love, love, love the way that Tanzy looks on my skin! Just look at all that shimmer...every time I looked down, I would smile at my nails. Unfortunately, I screwed this mani up after only 1 day trying to use my BM plates. Oh well...one day I'll get the hang of stamping. Please let me know if you have any tips...

Are you into orange?!? Happy polishing dolls!!!

Swatch Alert...Zoya Charisma

Laundry by Shelli Segal, Inge Christopher

I fell in love with Zoya Charisma after seeing it recognized as In Style's Best Beauty Buys for a bright color. I love all things bright, so I ordered Charisma during the Earth Day Exchange. This color is a neon magenta/fuschia-like shade. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the finish is matte-like. For me, a neon + a matte finish = a pain to apply. The formula was a tad bit streaky and it got a bit goopy when trying to apply a second coat. I must say though that the color of this shade made the application well worth it! I only have a few pics though because the color started to chip on the second day. :(

This color was really hard to photograph. The second pic is closer to the actual tone...it doesn't have nearly as  much of a pink undertone as the first pic. Next time I'll be sure to add a top coat of Seche Vite so it lasts longer. Happy polishing dolls!

Swatch Alert...Zoya Caitlin

Happy Easter dolls! I decided to change my nails last night to a new shade. I'm trying to make it through all of my last Zoya promo haul before the next one gets here. In steps Zoya Caitlin...this is a wonderful muted purple cream, with lots of bluish-gray undertones. The polish was thick, just as all of the others from the Intimate Collection, but it was also a little streaky which was a surprise. The color was completely opaque in 2 coats.

This is a great shade of purple! Its unlike most in my collection because of the gray in it. Its attention-grabbing, but not in the same manner as a loud, neon color (those have a place in my collection too).

What do you think of Caitlin?

Swatch Alert...China Glaze ~ Turned Up Turquoise

I was in my local Sally Beauty Supply over the weekend and they were having a buy 2 get 1 free on all of their polished. One of the shades I bought was Turned Up Turquoise by China Glaze. This is an awesome shade! It's a neon turquoise with great green undertones. It has just a hint of a frosted shimmer. The pictures make it look way more blue than what it truly is.

The formula was just okay for me. On the first coat it was very streaky and dried really quickly. The shade looked much better with two coats (shown in pictures above). This is a great shade for the warm weather! Happy polishing dolls!

P.S. I'm so in love with the peacock-themed jewelry above!

Swatch Alert...Zoya Marley

I am absolutely in love with Marley! This cool lavender cream polish reminds me of Easter eggs. Its a great pastel color that doesn't look too chalky or harsh on the nails.

Excuse the blurriness of the last two pictures..they really don't do it as much justice as it deserves. I received tons of compliments on this shade. The formula is the same as the other colors I've tried from the Intimate collection. It was easy to apply and opaque in just one coat, which is always fab! I have lots of other new shades that I haven't tried yet, so many more swatches to come!

By the way, I'm going to add the shopstyle look to each of my Swatch Alerts. I love all accessories and nail polish is one of the greatest ways to make your look pop. I thought this would be a great way to combine new polish shades and fashion...let me know what you think. Happy polishing dolls!
