Update on the Untrieds Challenge

Hey dolls,
So I've decided to do an update on my untrieds challenge. I was successful for all of 2 weeks. I know...I know...poor job. It all started with the Cult Nails July 4th promo. While one of the colors I bought was for a future giveaway, I did snag 2 for myself as well. Then on my trip to Orlando for the Sade/John Legend concert (which was too awesome for words!!!), I went to Ulta. I felt like I sorta had to go in because I don't have one in my town and its the first time I've been to one since I've started blogging. And I had a coupon. And I had a friend who wanted to go there too. Ok...ok...enough of the excuses. I'm going to try to do better.

The good news...all of the polishes that I've used since that initial challenge post have been untrieds...lol. More good news...Zoya hasn't done a full promo on the new fall collections, so I haven't bought it yet. I really want the Mirrors collection though. I also have made a concerted effort not to go to any drugstore or Sallys this week, so I haven't purchased anything since the Ulta buys on Sunday. So its almost been a week, let's see how long this can go. Here's the link to my current stash. The untried count is at 114...or something around that...my eyes were going crossed looking at the spreadsheet lol. Looks like I've got some polish to wear. That's way too many pretties just sitting around for my liking.

Hey dolls...I cant believe how close I am to my first milestone of 100 GFC followers. I'm already shopping for my first giveaway and I think you all will like it. I really appreciate so many of you taking time to read my musings and look at my nails. :)

So a few days ago I was talking to hubby about my nail polish spending habits. When I was re-organizing my stash, he got a feel for how many untrieds I have (they are all labeled with a sticker on top and I've gotten many more since I took these pics last month). I'm going to attempt to put myself on a no-buy until I can get my list of untrieds down. Now of course there has to be some sort of loop hole right...lol. I'm going to try not to buy any of a specific brand until I have made it through all of the untrieds. So you may see a lot of the same brands back to back...especially if Zoya keeps having bomb.com promos. ;)

I'm not going to cheat by just swatching a bunch of polishes over a few days. I like for my polish to get a little love, so it needs to be worn for at least 1-2 days before I switch or add something else to it for layering.  Its been a week since I've purchased anything (except for the giveaway), so I'm off to a good start. I won't make any promises, but I will give this a concerted effort. I have way too many pretties just sitting in my Melmer right now.
